2 November, Riga. As of today the most advanced network in Baltics is up and running in Latvia. Bite Latvija, Latvian telecommunications operator, and Huawei, the world leading provider of the new generation telecommunications network solutions, have finished swapping all of existent Bite base stations and enabled the new mobile network for Latvians. Since signing the agreement past June 11 in Shanghai, China, Bite Latvija team together with Huawei have been working day and night to make the new network capabilities available throughout Latvia. Over the last four months all existent Bite base stations have been swapped to most advanced mobile technologies from Huawei. Further investments have also been done in completely new base stations, and in the month of October Bite has launched 80 new base stations providing increased voice and data coverage for customers.. Fred Hrenchuk, CEO of Bite Group says "We're proud and happy to bring our new network to the customers, providing wider coverage, faster mobile internet and better quality. The network swap process has been made in real time. It is like changing the engine of a plane while flying.". So today Latvians and Bite customers will benefit from the new network: • WIDER coverage: more coverage with existing base stations due to the usage of state of the art equipment.
